I really like this beach motel. There are many types of rooms - some with kitchen and fireplace, some with balcony, some without, they’re all cute and airy. This is our third time staying here in a month and it doesn’t get old because we got different rooms. Location-wise it’s walking distance to the beach. This time we got room 129, a King suite with a kitchenette and fireplace. The problem with this room is that it has a porch that faces the west, so it gets the hot afternoon sun - not the best in the summer but perfect in the winter. That said, we were there on a day when it was 85F, and by the time we went back to the room it had already cooled to the 70s. With the fan on and windows and door opened, it got cool fast and was comfortable enough to sleep within 15 mins. The little kitchenette comes with a keurig coffee maker with caffeinated and decaffeinated pods, bowls and plates and mugs and even wine glasses for 2 people. The people working at the front desk are wonderful, from the girls in round glasses who checked us in to Amil who told us about Chad’s for a nice brunch place. I love sleeping in fresh air, but the king bed is comfortable. If you get a room with a porch/balcony, bring some wine to enjoy on the porch in the evening. I love this place. It’s got character, is very clean, and has a strong beach vibe. To me it embodies the best of Santa Barbara, fresh air and sun and nice people.

Good value for money, given how expensive hotels are nowadays. Our room was clean, and though it was clearly basic and cheaply set up, it was comfortable and pleasant enough, without grime or wear. The hotel was cute and old school, with a neat interior pool. The employee who greeted us was nice and the coffee in the lobby in the morning was pretty good. The location was a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from the edge of downtown via the shoreline, or a short cab or bus ride (the bus stops less than 2 minute walk from the hotel). Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel if you're on a budget in Santa Barbara yet still want some charm and comfort while being right next to the beach and downtown!

The accommodation is only a few steps away from the beach of Santa Barbara and therefore in a great location. You can also easily walk to the town center via a beautiful path along the beach. We really liked our room. It was modern and large. The bed was comfortable and there was also a TV and a fridge. Unfortunately, there was no coffee machine. We chose the room with a small balcony. We had a lovely sea view from the balcony and could sit outside. The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly. There was coffee and tea in reception in the morning as well as a small selection of pastries. The heated pool was open until 9pm. There were also tables outside to sit down.

Perfect location, 5 min walk from East Beach. We've stayed in a few of the lower price hotels / motels in SBA and this one was by far the best to date. Great value for money, clean room - with a nice fireplace, which we used as it was a chilly evening. We normally stay in the Harbor area, but flipped things this time and walked from East Beach to the Harbor and back - which is just about perfect along the beach.

This place is a hidden gem among the many beach hotels, and is usually less expensive.. it’s surprisingly nice considering the price, with the feel of a complex in a youth hostel more than a hotel. Its rooms are set around a pool on two levels and are good sized, the standard room has a fridge and bathtub, some of the rooms have fireplaces (but are really just space heaters in the wall.) I liked the location too.
